Welcome

Welcome to Engineering Physics at UBC! With a strong foundation of challenging academics, project courses, and co-op work experience, the Engineering Physics Program provides students with the skills and experience needed to develop new technology and interdisciplinary engineering projects. All students in the Program take high-level math and physics courses as well as engineering courses in the areas of:

  •

    The launch of MOST

The launch of MOST, a microsatellite partly designed and built at UBC

    Computer Science

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Mechatronic Science

In their second year, students take courses in each of these areas and then choose one of four possible options as their specialty prior to the beginning of their third year.

A 5-year program, Engineering Physics is one of the most competitive engineering programs at UBC. It is fully accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board. Sixty students are admitted each year.  The academic program is normally supplemented with technical experience and protected time for technical work terms is built into the curriculum.
