We are very excited that our very own Bernhard Zender has been recognized with a President’s Service Award for Excellence for 2020. This award is given to a handful of UBC staff every year who, to name just a few of the criteria, excel in their area of work, go above and beyond their job description, who improve the value and the efficiency of the services they provide, who maintain a consistently high quality of service to their clients (students and fellow staff), and who make outstanding contributions to UBC.
We couldn’t think of a better recipient for this award. Bernhard has been an integral member of the Engineering Physics team and the Department of Physics and Astronomy since he joined UBC in 2007. Bernhard is passionate about engineering, physics, and innovation, and he continuously works behind the scenes to make sure that everyone is up and running, not just for our students, but for the department and anyone on campus or in the local community who wishes to make or do something innovative.
Thank you Bernhard for consistently going above and beyond – all of our experiences are richer for your efforts!
