Paper airplane workshop and challenge, March 29 @ 12 noon

Calling all paper airplane fans! UBC Applied Science is hosting a paper airplane talk and workshop on Friday, March 29 at 12 noon in Kaiser 2020/2030.

Come out and build the ultimate aircraft of your dreams. A series of short talks will kick off the event including a talk by Applied Science Dean James Olson. Ever wondered what paper has to do with actual airplanes or what bat wings have to do with paper airplanes? Come find out!

Event format:

  • Short talks:
    • Dean James Olson: Building better airplanes
    • Pete Ostafichuk: Aerodynamics and paper airplanes
    • Rajeev Jaiman: Bat wing aerodynamics, drones and paper airplanes
    • UBC AeroDesign team: Aircraft vs paper airplane design
