Eng. Phys. Capstone Project leads to precision water and fertilizer distribution technology Start Up

Engineering Physics 2020 Alum Arthur Chen’s Start Up company, Verdi, has developed a customizable water and fertilizer delivery system featured at TechCrunch Disrupt 2021, a Silicon Valley platform for young start ups.  What began as a project in ENPH 459 with Jessica Chapman and Nishad Jamaldeen has become a sought-after technology in agriculture.  Verdi’s next challenge is filling the demand for this timely technique, delivering water precisely where it is needed through smart valve clusters capable of targeting individual groups of plants in a field or even single plants.

From the TechCrunch article:  “…the system is capable of reducing irrigation costs by up to 80% and offering up to 10 times more precision than more traditional methods.”
